DeepCLidar: Floating LiDAR and Wind Resource Assessment
The first floating lidar buoy system to be conceived, designed, integrated, and tested in the USA
Woods Hole Group offers a unique blend of multidisciplinary expertise, making it well-equipped to support offshore operations. With over 30 years of experience in metocean data collection, the company has developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in measuring high quality metocean data in offshore environments.
In partnership with the University of Maine, Woods Hole Group has developed the DeepCLiDAR technology, which has received Carbon Trust Level 2 certification. DeepCLiDAR enables precise, site-specific offshore wind resource measurements and wind energy assessments to be tailored to meet specific Client requirements.
SARWind Capabilities
We can apply the extensive expertise of the CLS Group in satellite observations, and high-resolution wind modeling through our SARWind capability to provide broad area wind resource statistics and data that provide greater accuracy and spatial definition than hindcast models.
The SARWind assessment capability can also be combined with the site-specific DeepCLiDAR data to provide an enhanced offshore wind resource assessment solution that will support informed decision-making through the life of a wind energy project.
