DeepCLiDAR Buoy – Unlocking New Real Estate for Offshore Wind Energy Production

The Woods Hole Group DeepCLiDAR innovation, extensive experience of in-situ metocean data collection, satellite radar observations, data derivation, and high-resolution wind field modeling, all combine into the company’s SARWind offering. This offering creates a unique suite of services in offshore wind resource assessment. 

This technology will allow companies the dataset needed to acquire funding to expand the geographical areas for wind energy. To receive funding, there needs to be proof of reliable wind. There is limited observational data offshore and even less data at the elevation of where the turbine blades are located and this buoy will give energy companies they need to secure the loans.
