Woods Hole Group offers physical oceanographic services - the collection, analysis, and reporting of oceanographic data for engineering design and environmental assessment to governments and industries worldwide.
Our experienced oceanography staff, comprised of Ph.D. and M.S.-level scientists, together with field engineers, technicians, and computer data processing specialists, provides expertise in all phases of oceanographic studies, including the design of field sampling programs, planning and execution of field operations, statistical and analytical interpretation of the results, and preparation of reports. We have conducted numerous oceanographic programs, including studies of power plants and sewage treatment outfalls, studies of offshore sites for the oil industry, and research programs on the continental shelves. Woods Hole Group specializes in observational program design, optimizing the selection of ocean instrumentation and sampling strategy. In addition, our ocean engineers provide system engineering services that blend custom and standard instrumentation for real-time data acquisition and telemetry systems. Ocean
	and estuarine currents may be highly variable in time and space. Climatologically-driven seasonal circulation patterns, wind-driven currents, eddies and turbulence, internal waves, hurricane and typhoon-forced circulation, and tidal motions are examples of this variability. We specialize in understanding the process and dynamics of ocean motions and maintain an extensive library of computer software
for analysis of oceanographic data, including multi-variate frequency-domain (spectrum) analysis, time-series analysis and data adaptive techniques, as well as extremal value probability analysis. Numerical modeling and analytical simulations are also used as tools to assist in interpolation and understanding of ocean observations, and prediction of future or extremal events.
Woods Hole Instrument Systems, LTD. (WHISL) is a sub-division of Oceanography and Measurement Systems which manufactures oceanographic instrumentation and systems.
